A series of original animated short films created by students, faculty and graduates of the USC School of Cinematic Arts accompanied the orchestra's performance of Pictures at an Exhibition — a contemporary cinematic re-imagining of the art exhibit that originally inspired Mussorgky’s composition. Scott Winters, inventor of the new technology Muséic, joined the orchestra onstage using an iPad controller to ‘play’ the films following the tempo and dynamic phrasing of the conductor.
